Choosing the right solution for your Contact lens

The longevity of contact lens depends on its proper care. Daily cleaning of lenses are recommended by the eye specialists. Proper care of lenses refers to a lot of steps such as cleaning, rinsing, storing and disinfecting. When exposed to air, a filmy layer of tiny organisms floating in the air builds up on its surface and transparency of lenses get lost. So, for maintenance of contact lens one should follow a proper method and for this purpose different solutions are available in the market.
You can use saline solution for rinsing and storing and should use it with ultraviolet disinfecting system and cleaning device. Enzymatic cleaner is advised to use at least once in a week to remove the layer of protein from the surface of contact lens. It is used in conjunction with saline solution or disinfecting solutions. Don’t forget to rinse the lenses before using the cleaner.
Multipurpose solution is also available in the market. It is better to use this solution as it will perform multi functions. Using it will not require you to use any other solutions. It is recommended to rinse the lenses prior to cleaning.
There are various brands of contact lens available and the different solution has different impact upon them. So in stead of trying out various solutions you are advised to choose the right one that is effective for the contact lens you are using.
